Ceri has been appointed on a part-time basis as the new creative director at Mission Gallery in Swansea.

Mission Gallery’s press release reads:

The Mission Gallery is delighted to announce the appointment of Ceri Jones as Creative Director. Ceri brings a wealth of creative talent with an exciting local and international portfolio of work, which has seen her write, curate, manage and drive many successful projects. She will step into her new role at the Mission Gallery in September and is already working hard behind the scenes with staff to ensure the city-centre premises are ready to re-open to the public once more.

Ceri said: ‘I am so pleased to be joining the committed team at Mission. In our shifting world, I am looking forward to nurturing ideas and opportunities together with our brilliant creative and diverse communities. Mission has been a friend to many across the years and it will be exciting to work towards bright possibilities for the future.

James Moxey, Mission Gallery Board Director said: ‘We are delighted that Ceri has agreed to join us to work at the Mission. We are looking forward to supporting Ceri and her team to continue the excellent work of the organisation, supporting creative practice and diversity across the arts. Well done Ceri!’

Ceri has worked extensively with the Mission Gallery in recent years. Working with the team there, and with Ruthin Craft Centre as lead partner, she has curated six touring exhibitions through The Language of Clay. These have featured the work of Anna Noël, Micki Schloessingk, Anne Gibbs, Justine Allison, Ingrid Murphy and Kate Haywood. The most recent exhibition Ceri has curated, A Language of Clay, is at New Brewery Arts in Cirencester until 3 October 2020.

Ceri will continue working on projects with Fieldwork alongside her work with the Mission Gallery.

The Mission Gallery reopens to the public on Tuesday 8 September 2020.
